**About the Role**

As a team leader within our Cultural Engagement & Library Services Business Unit, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operations of Georges River Libraries, delivering high-quality, customer-focused services, research, programs and collections.

In this role you will combine your research and local studies expertise with your leadership skills to lead and mentor your team in the delivery of research, training, programs, collections and other services to preserve the community history of the Georges River area. You will also work in partnership with other library teams, Council departments and community stakeholders to ensure open access to Local Studies collections and information resources.

This role is primarily based at **Hurstville Library** and will involve other locations as required.

- Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Studies at librarian level, or an equivalent qualification
- Current Working with Children’s Check
- Demonstrated high level skills and experience in leading and providing research or local studies services in public libraries or equivalent organisations
- Demonstrated experience and proficient use of technology and digital resources, including library management systems, online databases and digitisation methods
- Demonstrated high level skills in written and verbal communication including effective business and historical writing, delivering presentations and training, and conducting consultations
- Demonstrated high level skills in content creation and collection management
- Demonstrated high level skills and experience in efficient time management, project management and problem solving
- Experience and demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and support people in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong commitment and proven ability to provide quality customer service and work with customers from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to monitor budgetary spending within work area, against pre-determined targets

**Desirable**
- Qualification, or specialisation, in History, Applied Research, Records and Archive Management
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Knowledge of the Georges River Local Government Area
- Experience working with a multicultural client base
- Experience in conducting oral histories and public program
