**Salary**: $150,000 - $250,000
Occupation: Construction

**About the Role**
The Victorian Rail Advocate is responsible for promoting Victoria’s local rail manufacturing industry and developing initiatives to grow industry capability, capacity and our associated skilled workforce.

**Position Description, please click here.**
**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Advising on challenges within the local rolling stock manufacturing industry, particularly in the context of buses, with a focus on enhancing both capabilities and diversity in the workforce. Additionally, aiding in the optimization of local content in the rolling stock pipeline planning to benefit the local industry and supply chain.
- Establishing and facilitating stakeholder forums like RIDAC and collaborating with the National Rail Advocate to foster a federal emphasis on bolstering the rail manufacturing sector's capacity. This includes streamlining major procurements, implementing local content regulations, and harmonizing technical standards to enhance interoperability and reduce inefficiencies.
- Collaborating with the National Rail Advocate and other states to minimize competition between regions. Exploring strategies to incentivize young individuals to enter the rail manufacturing field and promoting synergy with other industries, such as defence and construction, to encourage knowledge sharing within the rail supply chain.
