**About the team**

The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering a once-in-a generation multi-billion-dollar program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. We are dedicated and passionate team that is proud of the work we do and the supportive and flexible team culture we have built.

The Technical Services Branch provides specialised engineering services for the multi-modal delivery, operations, and management of our Transport network, and is the centre of technical expertise driving innovation and best practice.

**The opportunity**

The role is responsible for building a team proficient in **Lidar scanning**, predominantly focused on **Mobile Laser Scanning techniques** across Survey Services. Providing leadership for capability uplift in the development, deployment, management and implementation of Mobile Laser Scanning to improve service delivery. The role provides leadership in minimizing WHS risk associated with surveying activities, leads a team delivering state-wide surveying services using innovative Lidar equipment and is a representative at internal and external forums contributing to TfNSW’s reputation as a technical leader.

The role will also be responsible for the research, development, and implementation of technical specifications for various laser scanning techniques and representation at external forums.

**5 Year Fixed-Term Full-time position** - mainly based in Parramatta. Hybrid ways of working.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Model exceptional leadership in technical survey service delivery by implementing change, developing and inspiring people, providing direction, while continuing to implement more efficient, innovative and safe practices.
- Manage, deliver and maintain survey capabilities within Survey Services by engaging both internal and external resources to achieve TfNSW objectives.
- Provide leadership in the development and delivery of training programs for internal surveyors to ensure consistency in survey and spatial deliverables associated with Mobile Laser Scanning techniques across Survey Services including the development of standards and procedures.
- Role model, promote and actively demonstrate the five ways of leading behaviours to deliver organisational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities for the Greater Good.

**About You**

You will have strong experience in survey scanning techniques with knowledge of the associated software. The ability to engage with stakeholders, interpret data and high level or organisation. Strong analytical and organisational ability with commercial experience.

**Key Knowledge and Experience**:

- Demonstrated management capabilities, including the ability to lead, influence, promote and motivate?highly skilled technical?staff to deliver?desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience with conflict resolution and the ability to negotiate with various stakeholders including landowners, surveyors, managers, project managers, contractors and engineers.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Diploma qualification or equivalent in Surveying and demonstrated relevant experience in the provision of surveying technical advice and management of technical risk in infrastructure projects.
- Possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Grade 11 ($148,877 - $158,854) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
