**Position Overview**
Accountable for the provision and prioritisation of high-quality customer service and the delivery of a broad
range of effective and proficient operational library duties that support and optimise the community library
experience and contribute towards the promotion of lifelong learning, community strengthening and social
interaction.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Customer and Library Services**
- Perform a broad range of routine activities and functions that contribute to the smooth and efficient day
to day operation of Council’s Library services.
- Participate in a culture of exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers through the
delivery of a prompt, positive, effective and efficient library service.
- Assist members of the community to feel confident in and make the best use of Library services by
effectively guiding their access to resources, programs and events that are available across the various
library branches.
- Undertake operational library duties across all library branches including but not limited to:
- Issues and returns
- Responding to various channels of customer enquiries
- Routine shelving
- Item processing
- Supporting and promoting various programs and events
- General administration.
materials to effectively undertake enquiries and assist customers to meet their information needs.
- Provide administrative and/or operational support to ensure the effective operation of library specialisation
areas including Children’s Services, Adult Programs, Digital Literacy, Collections, Local History and Heritage,
Community Outreach and Home Library Services as required.
- Assist in community lifelong learning related to technology through supporting customers to effectively use
the internet, access social media and generally navigate computers and photocopiers as required.
- Actively contribute towards a professional and contemporary library image by taking pride in the
presentation of public and communal areas ensuring a consistently welcoming and tidy appearance,
regular maintenance and renewal of displays and accurate Library shelving in accordance with signage
and promotional material standards.
- Undertake ad-hoc project support of an administrative nature as required.
