**Opportunity**

The Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) (AD T&L) is responsible for leading the teaching and learning agenda at Melbourne Law School (MLS). This includes developing the teaching and learning strategy at MLS, as well as implementing that strategy. The AD T&L will report to the Dean of MLS and is a member of the MLS Executive Committee. The AD T&L coordinates and works closely with the Directors of the Juris Doctor (JD), Melbourne Law Masters (MLM) and Undergraduate Programs and the Assistant Dean (Teaching and Learning), to ensure excellence in the education portfolio.

The AD T&L will provide advice to the Dean and the Executive on strategic planning for teaching and learning initiatives, and will be required to identify and analyse trends in the graduate market to ensure that the Law School’s programs and student services are responsive to the needs of students, academics and employers.

**About you**

You are an experienced legal academic with a strong track record in teaching and learning leadership. With a proven ability to think strategically and a firm commitment to the academic mission of the University, you have a deep experience and understanding of legal education, the pathways of law graduates, and the nature and demands of academic work. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and lead people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

You will also possess;
- A legal qualification and a masters or doctoral degree (or other equivalent professional experience) in a relevant field
- Demonstrated leadership in teaching and learning in the tertiary education environment
- Demonstrated academic excellence evidenced by an outstanding contribution to teaching and/or research in law
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the strategic direction of MLS, particularly in relation to issues of teaching and learning
