About the role
The Customer Service Officer is responsible for the coordination of accurate, timely, consistent, and appropriate responses to queries including from visitors and online queries. The position works with key staff across the Victorian Fisheries Authority to source information and is based at our newly renovated VFA Head office.

You're a highly motivated, creative team-player with excellent communication skills.
We value you for your social media skills and your confidence working with the public, online, on the phone, and face to face.
As the successful applicant you also have skills and/or aptitude for:

- Problem solving
- Digital & technical literacy
- Planning & organising

Your confident customer service skills might've come from any kind of work or life experience, paid or volunteer.
Think retail, food service, helpdesk, call-centres, events, or any work that requires great customer service.
Study in, or towards a communications, events, or fisheries or agriculture-related qualification would be well regarded, but is not essential.

Desirables
It is desirable working towards a communications, events or fisheries/agriculture-related qualification would be well regarded though, not compulsory.

Position Outcome
- Deliver high-quality telephone and reception services to stakeholders, service providers and members of the public by maintaining a welcoming and professional manner, acknowledging all visitors and callers and responding promptly to their needs in turn.
- Maintain effective working relationships, liaise efficiently and professionally with all levels of staff.
- Provide support to the VFA Communications Team through a range of administrative functions as required.
- Provide support, as needed, in the delivery of VFA events and manage the distribution of VFA products on request.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures
