**Finance Officer, Pacific Labour Facility - Brisbane**

**Project Overview**:
The Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) facilitates seasonal and longer-term work opportunities for Pacific workers in Australia. It connects Australian employers with Pacific workers under the newly introduced Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme which combines the existing Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) and Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP).

**Role Overview**:
The Finance Officer will provide financial management support to the Pacific Labour Facility program (PLF) and its staff.***

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assist and support all day-to-day financial transactions and functions.
- Support in-house accounts payable function, to a wide range of suppliers in multiple locations across Australia and the Pacific
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial accounts and records for all financial transactions, ensuring all records for receipts and expenses are accurate
- Undertake the day-to-day operations of the processing and payment of suppliers, using project financial management system (Costpoint).
- Ensure financial management policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
- Prepare weekly fund transfers.
- Maintain credit card register and process credit card acquittals.
- Process project expense claims and monitor status of pending payments to staff and suppliers.
- Assist in the management of the project bank account, monitoring expenditure and updating finance manager accordingly.
- Monitor Facility costs and conduct monthly account closure reports.
- Assist monitoring of consultant’s expenses against contracts, ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Finance, business or administration qualification
- Relevant work experience operating with project finances
- Sound management skills, strong problem-solving skills with a capacity to think and act strategically
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills
- Highly developed verbal and written communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of personnel from different disciplines
- Highly proficient English communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, particularly in a cross-cultural context
