**Hours per fortnight**

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

**Duties**
- Monitor media coverage of issues related to the work of the Department of Justice, identify relevant issues and make recommendations for appropriate communication strategies and activities.
- Maintain a consistently high standard in the quality, accuracy, layout and structure of information and communication materials.
- Maintain high-level knowledge of the approaches and technologies available to effectively communicate about the Department of Justice’s services and achievements, and provide advice to staff regarding the most appropriate use.
- Write, coordinate and review content for a range of internal and external documents and publications (including newsletters, information sheets, Internet and Intranet content, brochures and major Departmental publications), ensuring it meets the needs of the Department’s target audiences.
- Assist with development and implementation of communication strategies to support the work of the Department of Justice, and review the effectiveness of these.
- Maintain effective relationships and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Work to ensure the Department complies with both the Tasmanian Government Communications Policy and the Tasmanian Government Style Guide and Logo Policy.
- As required from time to time, perform other tasks relevant to the skills and experience of the position classification.

**Desirable Requirements**
- A tertiary qualification or professional background in journalism, communications or marketing.
- Experience in the use of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs.
