**The Role**
MC Division Directors, Deputy Director and Project Director(s) are responsible for coordinating and leading diverse teams carrying out complex tasks relating, and not limited to capability development, delivery of customer-focused mission outcomes, and/or providing effective governance and business management practices.

They are responsible for developing, influencing and delivering strategic outcomes in support of ASD’s functions. They will provide strategic advice to senior managers and stakeholders as well as leading and assuming accountability for complex or sensitive projects that have strategic, political or operational significance. Therefore, these positions require strong leadership experience, including a demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues, manage risk, competing priorities and resource dependencies, whilst working with ASD’s senior leaders to deliver strategic outcomes. They will have effective management skills needed to lead a multi-disciplinary and highly technical workforce.

The key skills needed for the roles includes effective motivational techniques, sound and decisive decision making, ability to inspire the workforce and strong interpersonal skills.

The Mission Capability (MC) Division comprises high-performing, dynamic teams committed to enabling ASD’s missions in unique and exciting ways. MC Division Directors, Deputy Director and Project Director work with a significant degree of independence and performs an important leadership role.

MC Division is required to deliver a range of advanced capabilities to government through a variety of different programs and projects such as REDSPICE and the Defence Integrated Investment Program (IIP).
