**Position Information**:
Arcadia Vale Public School is a small school on the western shores of Lake Macquarie serving the Arcadia Vale community. It’s enrolment of 160 students, includes 14% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders, 2% with a non-English speaking background and a multi-categorical support class.

Staff are committed to delivering evidence-based teaching and learning programs that are personalised to meet the individual learning needs of all students. The school provides a variety of opportunities and experiences for students to develop their academic, physical, social and emotional skills and is recognised for its strong performing arts programs, incorporating musical instrument, choir, band and dance programs.

The school enjoys strong community partnerships, valuing parents as partners in education and encourages community engagement in all activities. Staff welcome and encourage the community to have an active voice in their school through engaging in collaborative decision-making processes.

Key areas of responsibility will include contributing to a dynamic staff culture and maintaining a collaborative growth mindset. Staff work and learn together to effectively increase the collective efficacy of the school. Support will be provided to ensure best pedagogical practice in alignment with syllabus requirements, professional performance, and a dedication to continuous improvement. The appointed person is required to have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, a proven commitment to fostering community involvement and be driven to learn and implement innovative practices that improve student outcomes.

**Selection Criteria**:
1. Approval to teach with demonstrated excellence in Infants and Primary (K-6), evidenced based pedagogy and a proven ability to deliver high-quality, data driven and differentiated literacy and numeracy programs that impact student outcomes.

2. Demonstrated ability to support student wellbeing to meet the diverse academic, social, emotional, and cultural needs of all students in line with the school’s commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, positive behaviour for learning and inclusive education.

3. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with all members of the school community and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive and growth orientated school culture.

4. Demonstrated capacity and commitment to enriching opportunities for students by developing, coordinating, and implementing extra-curricular programs such as but not limited to music, drama and information communication technology.
