Key areas of responsibility will include working closely with staff to ensure the best pedagogical practice in alignment with syllabus requirements, professional performance and dedication to learning growth for each and every student. The appointed person will need to have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, the proven ability to work collaboratively and be driven to learn and implement innovative practices across the school community.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

Approval to teach Infants and/ or Primary with the proven capacity to balance exemplary classroom teaching practices with the complex responsibilities of a school leadership role.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with executive staff to lead a school-wide culture that is characterised by high performance, continuous improvement, data-informed decision making and a commitment to best practice.

Demonstrated exemplary practice in planning, implementing, and reviewing teaching and learning programs to deliver effective differentiation which develops all students’ knowledge, understanding and skills.

Proven ability to work closely with executive staff to develop partnerships with the wider community, enhancing a culturally safe environment where relationships are valued and building the school’s reputation for excellence, engagement and inclusivity.

Capacity to develop and implement effective strategies for high-quality professional learning of staff, including working with the performance development framework to build professional capacity of self and others, within school, network and system partnerships.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff and engage parents and the community in the successful implementation of whole school initiatives, wellbeing practices and extra-curricular activities.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.

2.Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
