**Position Information**:
Greta Public School is vibrant and inclusive, centrally located in the heart of the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. There is a current student enrolment of 192, including 14% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. We acknowledge that we are located on Wonnarua Country and hold strong ties with the Maitland Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (MLAECG). There are multi-generational links with the Greta Migrant Camp which results in a number of students enrolling in our school from a variety of cultural backgrounds. There are 8 mainstream stage-based classes. The school has a FOEI of 132, compared with the NSW average of 100.
The school is strongly committed to supporting the success of every student, where school wide practices and programs are underpinned by evidence-based teaching. Student wellbeing and engagement are high priorities, with an integrated focus on Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and the positive education program, Grow Your Mind.
Our teachers and support staff continually strive to encourage students to improve within a culture of high expectations. Our vision is to empower all students to become resilient, self-directed and successful learners. Staff work collaboratively to implement, assess and evaluate school initiatives through strategic and targeted planning.
At Greta Public School students are provided with opportunities to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities such as drumming, dance, gardening, cultural weaving, debating and aeroponics. The school has the support of an active P&C committee who collaborate to support school priority areas and programs.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or enrolled in, Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education (refer to special notes below).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues in the role of release from face-to-face Teacher Librarian to positively impact school wide learning whilst promoting a love of literature and critical and creative thinking.
- Demonstrated skills in developing and evaluating procedures around library budgeting and management, creating a stimulating and welcoming library environment for all students.
- Capacity to implement and lead public speaking, debating and/or choir in addition to other extracurricular activities to build and foster positive relationships.

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed with 24 months.
