**Job Description**:
Sodexo are currently seeking an experienced General Manager - Employee & Industrial Relations. Australia is a key global market for Sodexo and the General Manager - Employee & Industrial Relations will play a critical role in supporting and driving employee engagement, labour efficiencies and compliance for the country.
The General Manager - Employee & Industrial Relations acts as a partner to the business by providing professional Employee & Industrial Relations guidance and operational support to relevant internal client groups adding value to the business. The position will include Strategic and Operational HR activities.
**Job Scope**:
The role has the primary purpose of driving Sodexo’s performance through high quality Employee & Industrial Relations strategy and service delivery.
**Requirements of the role will include but are not limited to**:
- Responsible for day-to-day management of industrial relations - oversight of all industrial instruments, compliance, right of entry and disputation.
- Lead enterprise bargaining negotiations across all operational segments, including preparation, planning, engagement, and implementation.
- Primary contact for union representatives, including providing support and assistance to other business segments where required.
- Primary contact for client representatives in relation to employee and industrial relations issues, strategies, and challenges
- Represent the business in relevant Tribunals (and Courts, if necessary) regarding employee and industrial relations matters, and case management of significant projects and matters, as assigned.
- Assist in the development and implementation of industrial relations strategies and plans.
- Regularly present on current and developing labour related issues to executive leadership, including with strategies and implementation guides to leverage trends and opportunities
- Establish sound industrial relations practices and principles within HR community and drive those practices to be embedded across the business whilst balancing innovative and commercial (and practical) thinking. Coach and develop capacity of operations and advisors to manage effective IR on projects/operations.
- Create and implement systems of work and tactical projects aimed at ensuring compliance, maximising workplace efficiencies, management flexibilities, cost breakthroughs and enhance our competitiveness in current and future commercial contracts.
- Work with HR and business development team to develop industrial relations solutions and documents for tenders, contracts and other opportunities - including documentation and hands on implementation.
- Work closely with internal legal counsel on managing regulatory issues, audits and compliance measures.
- Develop applicable workplace relations documentation for use by HR/operational functions - including letters, processes, workflows, and training packages.
- Managing, where required, complex workplace matters (investigations, inquiries, or disputes) and develop/oversee compliance programs.
- Author people related policies where appropriate.

**To be successful, you’ll need**:
- Degree qualified in Employee or Industrial Relations, or Employment/Industrial Law.
- Senior level consultancy, advisory and / or management experience, inclusive of a demonstrable set of achievements in industrial relations in a large and complex matrix organisation.
- Demonstrable experience negotiating enterprise agreements covering large groups of employees with multiple union representatives.
- Knowledge of unions/industrial practices relevant to energy & resources, oil & gas, and corporate sectors
- Experience in case management and advocacy in the FWC or tribunals.
- Relevant experience in the successful support, development and implementation of industrial relations strategies, tactical plans, frameworks, systems, and processes.
- A commercial mind-set with broad knowledge of workplace relations matters.
- Excellent client facing skills and ability to develop deep productive relationships.
