**The Opportunity**

Transgrid is at the forefront of Australia’s transition to a clean energy future. We are the backbone of the National Electricity Market, and we are pursuing a nation-changing portfolio of infrastructure projects that will accelerate the decarbonisation of our economy.

Electricity transmission will be central to the energy transformation needed to achieve economy-wide decarbonisation. Transgrid is helping create a clean energy future by supporting and ensuring a smooth transition to renewables. Timely investment in new infrastructure will be essential for the power system’s successful transformation to the energy system of the future.

Transgrid is reinforcing the transmission network in southern NSW with HumeLink - a new 500 kV transmission line project that will improve the flow of electricity between new generation sources and major demand centres in NSW. It is one of the state’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 360 km of proposed new transmission lines, and new or upgraded infrastructure at three locations.

HumeLink will provide a crucial hub for the flow of electricity in the National Electricity Market (NEM). The project will enable high volume energy transfer around the NEM improving access to affordable electricity.

As the Construction Manager HumeLink you will lead efficient construction management services associated with Transgrid’s assets and external business opportunities in full compliance with Transgrid policies and procedures and relevant safety and environmental legislation.

You will be responsible for the effective early planning and management of all construction work associated with transmission line and substation assets and ensure the efficient utilisation of resources to enable accurate estimating, delivery, and performance monitoring of internal and external projects. Core responsibilities to the role include driving a progressive and visible Safety culture and the mentoring and development of other Transgrid employees.

**Skills & Experience**

**Academic Qualifications & Experience**
- Possession of Electrical or civil trade certificate and extensive High Voltage construction experience
- In-depth knowledge and experience of project management, construction, testing and commissioning of transmission assets
- Experience on comparable projects, ideally including $1bn+ project size, linear infrastructure and work in regional and remote areas
- Sound interpersonal skills that will facilitate the establishment of working relationships with stakeholders and peers
- The ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce located over multiple sites
- In depth knowledge of electricity industry and participant expectations
- Resource and people management skills
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- NSW Driver’s Licence

- Ability to spend a large amount of time away and on site which may be remote to the individual’s base location

**Recognition & Reward**

In return for your hard work we have numerous benefits and initiatives to support you personally and professionally including but not limited to private health insurance discount, motor vehicle lease plan, career development support, study assistance program and workplace flexibility.

Continue to make it happen for your career, and for the millions of Australians who rely on our services every day.
