**Position Information**:
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
**About the Role**
The Community Partnership Officer coordinates a broad range of school partnership services to support the School community in the development of approaches aimed to improve the educational, social, emotional, health and wellbeing of families and to aid the enhancement of student learning outcomes. The position holder would be expected to Lead and manage a team of community engagement personnel in the provision of the community engagement program targeting families of migrant and refugee backgrounds. A high level of communication skills is essential in this role.

**NOTE - **This role is based at the Dubbo or Westmead Hub for Palm Avenue, NSW Centre for Effective Reading. There may also be additional requirements to travel to other sites.
**Additional Information**
Palm Ave School, known as the NSW Centre for Effective Reading (NSW CER), is a NSW Department of Education and NSW Health initiative. It comprises of a multi-disciplinary team of specialist staff including teachers, speech pathologists and school psychologists. NSW CER has four sites across NSW including Westmead, Manly, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga.
The NSW CER provides a statewide service for students referred from eligible government and non-government schools, and supports primary aged, rural and remote students with complex reading difficulties who have been identified and accepted for a direct service.
The team provides assessment and intervention services which includes the administration of reading assessments for students (either face-to-face or remotely) with identified complex reading difficulties, reporting on the results of assessments and leading the development and delivery of individualised interventions.
