UGL now have a vacancy for a **_Drafting Supervisor, _**reporting to the Engineering Manager based in our facility at Bennetts Green, Newcastle. This role is responsible for the provision of drafting services to our Industrial and Resources Line of Business.

The Bennett’s Green facility specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality pressure vessels and heat exchangers and site-based capital projects. The Drafting Supervisor plays a key role in delivery of such projects, managing the drafting system, drafting team, producing assembly and detail drawings for our operations whilst ensuring the quality meets the needs of our internal and external customers.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Manage drafting resources, in house procedures and standards and CAD system software and hardware. Identify training needs and train and mentor drafters.
- Supervise drafting team to meet quality and productivity requirements.
- Originate and revise engineering documentation including 3D models, 2D drawings, drawing lists, bills of material and weld registers. Check drawings created by the drafting team.
- Participate in designs for tender and prepare drafting estimates.
- Liaise with management, Design and Project Engineers, Workshop and Welding Supervisors.
- Monitor hours spent on projects versus estimates and schedule workload, liaising with Engineering Manager and subcontractors when extra resources are required.
- Comply with UGL policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Strictly adhere to both UGL and client’s safety and environmental systems and standards.

**About You**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a trade or drafting related field.
- A Mechanical or Structural Engineering Diploma would be desirable.
- Supervisory experience or a track record of drafting experience suitable for a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Thorough understanding of document control procedures.
- Knowledge of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Piping, Boiler Components and Structural drafting methods.
- High attention to detail with high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional presentation.
- The ability to work both independently and in a small team environment, learn quickly, prioritise tasks and devote additional time to meet dates.
- The drive to see projects come to fruition correctly and on time.
