**The Department**

The Commercial team is a part of the larger Commercial & Production Department at SBS and plays a crucial role in managing all commercial aspects of SBS’s television and online content. It supports the negotiation, execution, and management of deals related to the acquisition, commission, and distribution of content across multiple platforms.

The team works closely with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Network Programming, and Commissioning Teams, and external partners such as licensors and production companies, to secure optimal commercial outcomes that align with SBS’s Charter, Vision, and Values, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and policies.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Business Affairs Manager, Commercial, the Business Affairs Executive will be responsible for:

- ** Negotiation & Deal Management**: Under the guidance of the Business Affairs Manager, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to negotiate and execute deal terms and agreements for the acquisition, commissioning, and distribution of content across various platforms.
- ** Contract Drafting and Review**: Under direction of the Business Affairs Manager, preparing, drafting, and reviewing agreements, including licensing, production, and talent contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards, SBS policies and SBS’s commercial expectations.
- ** Stakeholder Liaison**: Providing advice and updates to internal and external stakeholders on deal progress, ensuring effective communication and timely management of schedules.
- ** Operational Efficiency**: Assisting with developing and streamlining business processes to mitigate risks, enhance workflows, and maintain accurate records in SBS’s rights management system.
- ** Team Engagement**: Effectively collaborating with team members to achieve common goals, meet business deadlines and maintain a positive work environment, assisting the Business Affairs Manager with team supervision as required.

**About You**

We’re looking for someone who brings:

- ** Solid Experience in Legal and Business Affairs**: Demonstrated experience within a network or production company, showcasing a deep understanding of the industry, its commercial terms, and its legal complexities.
- ** Strong Communication Skills**: Well-developed clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with ability to adapt to audience as required.
- ** Highly Organised**:Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying complexity and prioritise effectively when required.
- ** Systems Experience**: Experience of maintaining data in broadcast and rights management systems desirable.
