**About the position**
- The
- **Records Officer** is accountable, under limited direction, for managing TEQSA’s Records Management System. This includes overseeing the creation, retention, and disposal of records in alignment with Government legislation, agency records management policies and procedures, and archival services. They will undertake administrative and information management activities to support the agency’s records lifecycle and deliver client-focused, efficient and effective records management services, user support and training to key stakeholders and staff.

- **Records Officer** will work collaboratively in a small team and actively contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement, and decision-making activities. They will effectively identify, analyse, and manage risk and issues regarding their work, and exercise judgement appropriate for their position. They will be innovative, flexible, and able to adapt to meet immediate and future challenges, working in a dynamic environment.The key duties of the position include:

- **Records Officer,** you will be responsible and accountable for:

- Managing appropriate records creation, maintenance, sentencing, archival, disposal, destruction, and transfer to offsite storage in accordance with the Archives Act 1983, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Providing specialist records management advice, support, guidance and training to key stakeholders and staff.
- Managing TEQSA’s Records Management System, sites and libraries and undertaking quality audits and preparing updates and reports as requested.
- Building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders across the agency to ensure that business objectives and expectations are being met, utilising feedback to identify and implement system or process improvements that align with best practice and benefit the agency.
- Assisting with the development, implementation, monitoring and review of strategies, policies and procedures for records management, that will meet the current and future needs of the agency.
- Working effectively and harmoniously in a team, managing competing priorities, solving problems, and providing advice, support, and training to others as required.
- Performing other reasonable duties as directed.

TEQSA is looking for someone who is passionate about contributing to the excellence of the Australian higher education.
- Demonstrated experience performing information and records management activities in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of maintaining compliance with records management legislation, policy and regulatory requirements through the records management lifecycle.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate records management policies and processes to a range of key stakeholders and staff and provide training and support.
- High-level organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and work independently, making decisions and exercising judgement within defined parameters under limited direction, when required.
- Proven ability to model and encourage innovative ways of working and solutions that deliver outcomes that meet or exceed expectations of key stakeholders.

- be an Australian citizen.
- complete a National Police Check satisfactorily.
- be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance to Baseline status, supported by TEQSA.
