**About the role**
This position plays a key role by engaging with traders, developing communications materials, facilitating business support programs and events and leading the ‘Business Concierge’ function of Council.
- Other responsibilities include:_
- Enhancing processes for business support and responding to business-related enquiries.
- Overseeing the implementation of Special Rate Schemes for activity centers.
- Communicate, liaise, and maintain a team relationship with other departments to ensure Council and community expectations are being met and issues resolved in a professional and expedient manner.
- Attending external and internal stakeholder meetings, report and follow up on agreed actions and outcomes.
- Collect and report on data from Business Concierge enquiries and programs to inform future service delivery.

**About you**
You will provide support and assistance to the Coordinator City Economy across the broad spectrum of the team's activities.

The following is also required:

- Relevant experience in business support, communications, business, program planning or related fields.
- Experience and/or understanding of the broad role of Economic/Business Development in local government.
- Experience in resolving regular business/Council issues, working in partnership across the various Council departments.
- Understanding of the challenges facing small business and local activity centers.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and set and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak in a public forum.
- High-level interpersonal skills will enable liaison with a broad cross-section of staff, businesses, business groups, professionals, and community members.
