This is a great opportunity to join the Advocacy and Partnerships team to implement and deliver an exciting advocacy agenda for Yarra City Council.

This role will work with a collaborative and outcomes-focused team who are looking for someone that is passionate about the work Council does for the community and how the government can assist and support.

Your communication skills, understanding of all tiers of government and ability to source and frame information will help drive Council's engagement with other levels of government and support the delivery of key projects and initiatives. You will be a team player who builds strong working relationships, has impeccable attention to detail, excellent time management, and an ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

**POSITION OBJECTIVES**:

- Support Council's advocacy campaigns and activities.
- Undertake research of government procedures and policies to inform reports and briefings.
- Identify new and innovative partnerships or funding opportunities to deliver Council or community projects.
- Support Council's involvement in partnerships such as the M9 alliance.
- Promote advocacy activities and the work Council does advocating for and on behalf of the community through engaging and informative content.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to produce briefing material for the Mayor and Chief Executive Officer.
- Liaise with relevant government and third-party stakeholders including Ministers, Ministerial offices, government departments and agencies, local Members of Parliament, other councils, local business, community groups and organisations.
