About the role
The role of the Principal House Officer/Registrar you will be expected to participate in the provision of high-level emergency and inpatient clinical services within West Morton Rural Services and to ensure that safe, high quality, patient centred care is provided to all within West Moreton Health.

- Ipswich Hospital is our HHS acute teaching hospital and major referral centre. It has 421 beds and sees approximately 80,000 presentations per year with approximately 20-25% of presentations being paediatric.
- Specialties including anaesthetics, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Paediatrics, ENT, Maxillofacial, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation, Mental Heal and Allied Health services.
- Rural Health facility servicing the rural communities of the West Moreton Region include:
Gatton - 56kms from Ipswich (47mins)
- 10 Funded beds with physical capacity for 20 beds
- Recent upgrade to Emergency Department
- HITH Lockyer Valley based at Gatton Hospital
- Emergency Department - sees approximately 6200 patients per year
About you
- Passion for providing excellent clinical care to their community as a Rural Medical Officer
- Experience in delivering quality care to inpatients, outpatients, Emergency Department clients across a variety of acuity and care needs.
- Excellent communication and team work skills across a variety of settings including in an emergency
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
