**The Opportunity**
Join a leading organization in the disability services sector as a full-time SIL Engagement Officer/House Supervisor. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the effective operation of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and overseeing the care delivered by support workers. Liaise with clients, their families, and support networks to foster an inclusive and empowering atmosphere that promotes residents' independence and well-being.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership and guidance to support staff, coordinating daily routines and activities within the SIL house, implementing care plans, and ensuring residents' goals are met
- Foster a supportive atmosphere that promotes residents' independence, self-esteem, and participation in various activities, including personal care and medication administration
- Recruit, train, and supervise support staff, conducting regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and ongoing training in adherence to guidelines and organizational policies
- Maintain open communication with residents, families, guardians, and representatives to ensure individual needs are understood and met, while collaborating with allied health professionals and community organizations
- Manage administrative responsibilities, including accurate documentation, budget management, and efficient resource utilization, ensuring responsible financial practices within the SIL house
**About You**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant health or social care field
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of high-quality care services within a residential or hospital setting
- Sound knowledge of supported independent living principles and the specific care needs of individuals with complex needs
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, capable of motivating and developing staff
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
