This professional organisation, established in 1991, has a mission to establish, promote, and defend the career paths of exercise and sports science practitioners who have completed tertiary education. Their objective is to provide industry leadership by advocating for their profession, conducting research, providing education, and enforcing regulations. Their ultimate goal is to support exercise and sports science professionals and the Australian community in becoming more active. They are currently looking for a highly skilled and driven **Research Program Advisor** to join their team full-time based in Hamilton.

**Job Role and Summary**

As the Research Program Advisor, you will report to the Policy & Advocacy Manager and be responsible for managing and leading the research and publishing functions and research strategy. Your duties will include overseeing the research strategy, managing the annual research grants and medals, and ensuring the delivery of position statements and research publications.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop, review, maintain, and implement research and publishing policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure governance arrangements are in place to monitor research quality
- Ensuring compliance, monitoring, and reporting of all approved research projects are supported in accordance with organisational values, policies, and national/international best practices
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines for research and publishing to ensure governance arrangements are in place to monitor research quality
- Provide high-level advice and support on matters relating to research governance, integrity, reporting, and compliance
- Engages with internal and external stakeholders on research governance matters to support change management for compliance, monitoring, and reporting of approved research
- Oversee and manage a timely response to all research-related queries

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications with extensive experience in the conduct of research and/or research management
- Demonstrated experience developing policies, procedures and guidelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant research policy and implementation of successful organisation-wide policy, compliance and legislative requirements
- Knowledge of research Governance principles in the higher education, health or regulatory environment
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
- Highly developed written and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with academics, members and colleagues
- Ability to work autonomously
- Confidentiality and discretion
- Rights to work in Australia
