**POSITION OVERVIEW**: Motivation for Change Case Workers support male clients by providing trauma-informed practice to emphasize physical, psychological, and emotional safety. This role involves close collaboration with group facilitators, partner contact workers, and other agencies to monitor and respond to safety concerns. The position includes assessment, monitoring, planning, case management, advocacy, and linking program participants with support services. Motivation for Change staff actively engage in community and sector education, contributing to increased awareness of family violence and safety strategies. This role requires a mature attitude, autonomy within a team environment, strong planning skills, and a confident, ethical, and professional approach.
**POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the Motivation for Change Program through sector and community education, program delivery, and engagement in relevant networks.
- Working with service providers and community groups for an integrated approach to prevention and intervention for men who use violence.
- Proactively participating in team project initiatives, potentially leading specific projects or elements.
- Providing comprehensive risk assessment and case management for men referred to the MFC program.
- Assisting men in making informed choices, supporting access to relevant services, and delivering specialist advice/knowledge to external service providers.
- Proactively coordinating engagement with clients at outreach venues.
- Undertaking prescribed training and ongoing professional development.
**KEY SELECTION CRITERIA**:
**Essential**:
- Degree in a relevant qualification in community development, social work, welfare, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of the gendered analysis of family violence.
- Demonstrated specialist case management experience in providing trauma-informed responses.
- Experience in working with men who use violence towards family members within feminist and safety-first contexts.
- Well-developed written and verbal capability.
- Sophisticated understanding of South Asian cultures.
- Advanced skills in MS Office software.
- Proficiency in oral and written English skills.
- Current Victorian driver’s license.
**Desirable**:
- Graduate Certificate in Men’s Behaviour Change: Client assessment and Case Management.
- Graduate Certificate in Family Violence.
- Demonstrated understanding and awareness of structural and social inequities against CALD backgrounds, especially those with refugee and/or asylum-seeker backgrounds.
- Proficiency in a second language such as Dari, Pashto, or Hazaragi.
