**Your role**

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Records Manager to manage and co-ordinate the activities and projects of the records management program. You will provide strategic advice to internal and external stakeholders and ensure that the department's records management functions comply with approved policies, legislation and standards.

**What you’ll do**

As part of the Records Management team, you will provide sustainable, proactive leadership and management of DCJ’s information and corporate records.

You will have excellent personal qualities of, innovation, and motivation along with experience managing and working with a multi-functional team. In addition, you will have high level communication skills, both written and oral, the ability to give advice and information, and be able to interpret existing legislation and complex information management issues.

Reporting into the Director Information Management, you will be responsible for maintaining best practice records and document management standards, comply with legislative obligations, good corporate governance and security for record keeping. This position plays a key role in fostering relationships with districts, customers, Non-government organisations, information owners, and other groups of external stakeholders.

**Desired Attributes**

1 -Experience in the management of teams to support compliant records management across a large organisation in both physical and digital mediums

2 - Experience working with a broad stakeholder network across the business and NGO’s to understand regulatory and business drivers relating to records and information management.

3 - Someone who can set their own priorities and those of any staff/project staff supervised.

4 - Someone who can maintain independence to develop a suitable approach in managing a positive team culture, allocating resources, determining the conceptual framework towards projects and development of strategic plans.

5 - Someone with a high level of responsibility for determining appropriate unit/team actions undertaken, within government and legislative policies, and for ensuring quality control in the implementation of unit/team work.

6 -Someone with tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
