**About the opportunity**

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our Land Information and Spatial Services team as a Spatial Information Officer.

You will provide a high level of customer service and satisfaction for all dealings in GIS information to internal and external customers.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Certificate IV in Spatial Information Systems or a related field
- Solid experience in GIS with thorough understanding of spatial concepts and relationships
- Solid experience in use of New South Wales (NSW) spatial services digital cadastral databases (DCDB)
and its relationship to Council’s spatial datasets
- Solid experience in the use of Land and Property corporate database system e.g. Technology One
- Solid knowledge in Remote Sensing and LiDAR
- Experience in GIS administration, update of data and management
- Current Class “C” driver’s licence.

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge of applicable NSW legislation/regulations and guidelines
- Understanding of the concepts involved in mobile mapping GPS and geodesy
- Experience with databases queries including Microsoft SQL server reporting.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,448.30 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
