**About the Role**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Data Analyst. This role is instrumental in leading data analysis and modelling to drive informed decision-making and effective planning, contributing to the success of the Department’s goal and objectives.

As the Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping data-driven decision-making processes. Key responsibilities include:

- Manage the design, operation and review of data assets and models, and undertake data analytics services, to support strategic decision making and systemic provisioning of preschool and other early childhood development services.
- Generate data reports and outputs to support strategic modelling, integrated service planning and scenario analysis using a range of data inputs to support as part of statewide service provisioning and commissioning, encompassing funding, infrastructure and workforce planning elements.
- Provide specialist advice to identify, standardise and maintain relevant data sources and models as the inputs into a range of data products and methodologies across the work program.
- Lead the development of specialist advice in relevant policy areas by effectively transforming policy and operational requirements into workflows and modelling.
- Undertake activity to improve data and related reporting, including determining goals, priorities, and objectives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring data and information are tailored to the intended audience to maximise its value.
- Lead and undertake horizon scanning to bring into focus new areas of improvement in data analysis including relevant tools, apps and functions and expertise into policy development.
- Establish and manage relationships, partnerships and networks with executive management and key internal and external stakeholders across government agencies, to help to identify needs, refine broad requirements and define the form that effective solutions might take.

**Qualifications**:
Desirable a degree in a relevant discipline including Economics, Data Analysis or equivalent.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO7 $106,512 - 115,137 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
