Kogarah, Australia UM for Ministerial and Parliamentary Services Full time

The Office is seeking an enthusiastic, creative communications professional with well-developed skills and relevant work experience. **Key duties of this role are, but not limited to**:

- Develop and implement communications strategies and plans.
- Produce creative, high quality copy for media releases, newsletters, direct mail and speeches.
- Develop and manage CRM databases and distribution methods.
- Liaise with local media to build relationships, generate stories and respond to questions or issues.
- Take photos, videos, prepare layouts, design materials for use in a range of formats.
- Work with colleagues to manage website and provide content for digital platforms.
- Develop and continually update knowledge of government and parliamentary processes.
- Work outside of standard business hours and on weekends as required.
- Other duties as required.

**The ideal applicant should possess at least some of the following skills and experience**:

- Prior relevant work experience in a communications role is essential (minimum three years).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in media liaison.
- Skills in writing, design, graphics, production and distribution of printed materials including newsletters and direct mail items.
- Experience in relevant software such as CANVA, Adobe Creative Cloud and CRM database management.
- Experience and skills in digital content.
- An understanding of Australia’s system of government and parliamentary processes.
- People from First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Current Driver’s Licence.

**Employment conditions**:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-23 which include:

- A commencing salary between $69,170 and $80,757 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
- An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
- Employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% superannuation is payable.
