The **Commonwealth Bank **is committed to playing a leadership role in Australia’s transition to net zero emissions. The **Climate Strategy and Commitments team **defines how we fulfil this goal, and works across the Bank to deliver it. The team sits within Financial Services (FS) and collaborates closely with senior leaders across the Bank.
- Key responsibilities include: _strategy development (including emerging areas such as natural capital); internal & external reporting of climate-related commitments, sustainability funding and pricing framework development; measurement of our financed emissions; governance of key environmental & social activity across the Group; uplifting climate capabilities; and delivering climate scenario analysis.

As a **Manager - Climate Policy and Governance **, you will work with the Executive Manager and the broader team to contribute to the governance of key environmental and social activity across the Group. As part of your role, you will be supporting the management of the Secretariat function for the Environmental and Social ELT and Management Committees as well as drive process improvement initiatives. You will also be supporting the implementation of the Group’s Environmental and Social Policy through the development, management and execution of a comprehensive delivery plan across the organisation.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Contribution to the management of the Secretariat function for the Environmental ELT and Sub Committees, including tracking actions of key environmental & social activity across the Group and driving the coordination and preparation of high quality committee packs.
- Contribution to the coordination and preparation of Board materials, as required.
- Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders and is able to influence them to plan and deliver change appropriately.
- Support the development and execution of the end-to end implementation and embedding of Group Environmental and Social Policy across the business.
- Support the management of the people impact of changes, including overseeing related communications, training and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the development of artefacts, including implementation, key delivery documents and stakeholder engagement management plans.
- Appropriate management of risk, particularly as it relates to the Group’s climate commitments.

- A proven ability to build effective relationships with a proven track record in collaborating, influencing and driving outcomes with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience of strong project management skills with ability to execute to deadlines and thrives in a fast pace environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deliverables with competing deadlines. Previous experience with preparation of management reporting packs and process improvement will be highly regarded.
- Strong written communications and presentation skills.
- Previous banking and/or finance experience will be highly regarded. Knowledge of current sustainability or ESG issues and how they impact a financial institution will be an advantage but not essential.
