About the role

We’re seeking a Climate Manager to lead the enhancement and integration of Transurban’s Climate Change Framework and related strategies, developing a sustainable value proposition that drives towards a decarbonized world and enhances our social license.

You’ll join a passionate and innovative team, who play an important role in positioning Transurban as the leader in delivering and operating sustainable and resilient infrastructure in the communities that we operate.

Day-to-day, you will:

- Lead the enhancement and integration of the Group’s Climate Change Framework by overseeing its progress on key climate initiatives, targets and metrics
- Identify, analyse and embed the impact of transitional and physical climate-related risk relating to Transurban’s strategy, operations and value chain
- Provide expert climate advice to business leaders and drive partnerships with stakeholders to accelerate climate action
- Manage the climate-related reporting and disclosures in accordance with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), IFRS S2, CDP and any emerging climate-related standards and benchmarks
- Work collaboratively across the Sustainability Team to identify, prioritise and leverage opportunities to enhance the Sustainability Strategy and our approach to transition planning, nature and social licence.

This role will suit someone who has strong leadership skills, a curious mind and is a natural builder of relationships. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, you will have:

- Extensive climate-related experience in the infrastructure, property or sustainability consulting sectors (with an ASX listed company preferably)
- Insight into the evolving stakeholder environment, with working knowledge of climate change policies, legislation and compliance requirements, as well as current and future climate reporting in line with the recommendations of the TCFD and IFRS S2
- Excellent presentation skills, knowing how to distill key messages from complex information, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated self-initiative with strong planning and change/ project management skills, and able to handle multiple, time-sensitive projects
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, helping to problem solve through your tenacity, passion and the ability to influence the right people at the right time.
