**Requirements**:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A bachelor's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field (a master's degree is preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in teaching ELICOS programs to international students.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- A creative and adaptable teaching style that fosters a positive learning environment.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning purposes.
- Legal right to work and reside in Australia.
**Skills and abilities**:
- Strong leadership and communication skills: The ability to communicate ideas, instructions, and feedback clearly and effectively to students and teachers
- Experience with curriculum development or adopting new curriculum.
- Familiar with the ELICOS Standard 2018, and the National Code ESOS Act 2000
- Cultural sensitivity: Understanding and respect for different cultures and backgrounds, and the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
- Patience and empathy: The ability to be patient with students who are struggling, and to understand and respond to their individual needs and challenges
- Creativity: The ability to develop and implement engaging and effective lessons that keep students motivated and interested
- Classroom management: The ability to help teachers maintain a positive and productive learning environment, and to manage classroom behaviour and discipline issues
- Adaptability: The ability to assist teachers to adjust teaching styles and methods to meet the needs of different students and to respond to changing circumstances
- Technology proficiency: Familiarity with technology and digital tools, such as learning management systems aXcelerate
- Assessment and evaluation: The ability to assess student progress and performance and to provide meaningful feedback that helps students grow and improve
- Continuous learning and development: A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay current with new teaching methods and best practices
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Curriculum review and update**: Maintaining the program's curriculum, ensuring that it is current, effective, and aligned with the latest teaching methods and standards (ELICOS Standard 2018, and the National Code ESOS Act 2000)
- **Teacher training and support**: Providing training, mentorship, and ongoing support to teachers, ensuring that they have the skills and resources they need to deliver effective lessons
- **Program administration**: Managing the day-to-day operations of the program, including scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping
- **Student assessment**: Overseeing student assessment and evaluation, conducting assessment validation, reviewing, and updating assessment strategy when required, tracking student progress, overseeing the intervention strategy (Academic and Attendance), and providing consultation to students
- **Quality assurance**: Ensuring that the program meets the ELICOS Standard 2018, and the National Code ESOS Act 2000, and working with teachers and other staff to address any areas that need improvement
- **Stakeholder engagement**: Building relationships with stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and other partners, and communicating regularly about program progress and initiatives
- **Marketing and enrolment**: Provide academic information for the marketing staff for recruiting new overseas students and working with the marketing and admissions teams to develop and implement marketing strategies
- **Continuous improvement**: Continuously reviewing and updating the academic policies and procedures as per the reviewing schedule, seeking feedback from stakeholders (students and teachers), and using that information to make improvements and drive
