- This position assists the Crown Solicitor by acting as a solicitor in complex commercial matters.The Department of Justice supports reasonable adjustment requests in any stage of the assessment process to remove barriers and facilitate full participation in all aspects of employment for applicants with disability. **Hours per fortnight**:
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

**Duties**:

- To act as legal adviser for the State and its instrumentalities in complex, critical and novel commercial matters.
- To undertake independent drafting of complex and novel legal documentation.
- To undertake negotiations and consultation relevant to the work performed.
- To provide professional guidance and instruction to junior legal practitioners and para-legal staff.
- To perform such other professional work as may from time to time as directed by the Crown Solicitor.
- To actively participate in performance management activities and foster a feedback culture; and contribute to the development and implementation of policy relevant to the Office of the Crown Solicitor.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister or Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.
