    Job description:
  • This position assists the Crown Solicitor by acting as a solicitor in complex commercial matters.

Hours per fortnight:

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties:

  • To act as legal adviser for the State and its instrumentalities in complex, critical and novel commercial matters.
  • To undertake independent drafting of complex and novel legal documentation.
  • To undertake negotiations and consultation relevant to the work performed.
  • To provide professional guidance and instruction to junior legal practitioners and paralegal staff.
  • To perform such other professional work as may from time to time as directed by the Crown Solicitor.
  • To actively participate in performance management activities and foster a feedback culture; and contribute to the development and implementation of policy relevant to the Office of the Crown Solicitor.

Essential Requirements:

  • Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister or Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.
