Legal Practitioners will undertake litigation on behalf of, and provide legal services and support to, the Department of Police and Emergency Management with particular emphasis on matters relating to the criminal law

Period of Appointment:

ASAP for a period of 2 Years

Hours per fortnight:


73.5 hours per fortnight - we recognise the value in flexible working arrangements, talk to us about how this could work for you.

We are open to considering a range of flexible options, including flexible work hours based around court activity.

Duties:


Legal Practitioners will undertake litigation on behalf of, and provide legal services and support to, the Department of Police and Emergency Management with particular emphasis on matters relating to the criminal law.


Essential Requirements:

Pre-Employment Checks

  • Arson and fire setting;
  • Sexual offences;
  • Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
  • Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
  • Making false declarations;
  • Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
  • Malicious damage and destruction to property
  • Trafficking of narcotic substance;
  • False alarm raising.

Qualifications and Experience:


Admitted, or qualified for and entitled to be admitted, to the legal profession under the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007.
