Brisbane, Australia Premier and Cabinet Full time

**About Us**:
The Department of the Premier and Cabinet is the central agency for Queensland Government and plays a vital role in ensuring the Government's policies and priorities are effective in responding to major issues affecting Queensland. The department works closely with all other agencies to drive the government's work from conception through to implementation.

The development, coordination and implementation of whole-of-government policy is conducted within our department's Policy Division, and the Division ensures the government's priorities, commitments, decisions and objectives for the community can be delivered.

**Your opportunity**: As Principal Advisor, you will identify and analyse critical and emerging issues and provide strategic advice and high-level support to the Deputy Director-General (DDG), Policy, and the Divisional Leadership Team, on a range of sensitive and complex issues impacting on the operations of the Division.

**About you**:
We will assess your merit for this role by looking at what you've done previously - the knowledge, skills and experience you've built, your potential to contribute to the Department's strategic objectives, your ability to work in partnership with stakeholders across government, and your personal qualities.

**Benefits**:
You will receive support to achieve professional development goals while working in a state-of-the-art building on the river's edge. We offer first-class facilities for all employees to use, including DPC's Health, Safety and Wellbeing program along with flexible working arrangements.

**To apply, please provide**:

- Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have knowledge of your relevant previous work history).

If you would like more information on the role, please contact Rebecca McGarrity, Deputy Director-General, Policy, on (07) 300 39156. For further information on the responsibilities of the role and details of how to apply, please refer to the role description and attachment.

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet is looking for the best suited applicant for this role. We will do this by assessing your eligibility and your ability to undertake the requirements of the role (including, where relevant, the way you have carried out previous positions). We will also consider you potential to make contributions to the department and how your engagement would support our commitment to equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.

Should you require any additional support and/or reasonable adjustments during our recruitment process, please contact the hiring manager listed to discuss your requirements.
