About the role

This is a key leadership role within the Institutional Business Governance and Control (BG&C) Team, reporting to the Head of Business Governance and Controls, Institutional. You will lead a team to support the Institutional Operations businesses and be responsible for driving and overseeing the effective governance and management of non-financial risk in the 1st line of defence.

Institutional provides world class solutions for our institutional clients across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and America, including Papua New Guinea and the Middle East. ANZ Institutional aims to be the best bank in the world for clients driven by regional trade and capital flows. Institutional Operations is responsible for delivering operational support and shared services to our customers. This includes Onboarding and Servicing customers, Processing Customer Transactions and acting as a control function to ensure we do things in a well-managed way.

**Your key priorities and responsibilities include**:
Partner with Risk Owners and Control Owners to support them in discharging their responsibilities and accountabilities.
Oversee the consolidation of first line risk and control priorities and capability, assurance reporting, governance, and stakeholder management.
Drive uplift in risk culture across Institutional Operations and promote 'risk is everyone's responsibility'.
Provide expertise on Risk Assessments, Risk Acceptances and Treatments.
Assist in setting and delivering on Institutional BG&C strategy.
Manage a team of risk professionals in Australia and Bengaluru Service Centre to support Institutional Operations in managing governance and non financial risk accountabilities.
Ensure BG&C Operations team has a diverse and valued skillset and capability to effectively perform role.
