About the Role
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will contribute to patient care by providing administrative and clinical assistance to allied health professionals (AHP) in their day-to-day clinical duties. You will work under the supervision and direction of the AHP and undertakes only those clinical tasks delegated to them to:
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Assist the Occupational Therapists in the provision of services including individual and group work for inpatients and outpatients. This includes following specific directions and providing feedback to therapists on the progress of patients.
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of patient care. This includes assisting with group preparation within allied health.
- Maintain effective communication with patients/clients, hospital visitors, and the multi-disciplinary health care team as required for optimal patient care.
