Business Officer

Key responsibilities of this role
- Providing advice to management and staff on a range of administrative, financial, procurement and human resources processes
- Proactively review and implement administrative, financial, procurement and human resources processes for the branch, in line with current policies and procedures
- Coordinate and manage end of month reporting including budget reporting and variance and budget adjustments, transaction details reports, journals and accruals and advising management of any issues
- Process invoice payments using various methods including corporate card, purchase order and EFT
- Work with Financial Services to ensure that procurement activities are compliant with departmental procurement processes
- Assisting with procurement related activities as required
- Book and manage travel including processing travel claims and allowances
- Coordinate review and reconciliation of the fortnightly workforce reports including completion of payroll paperwork when required
- Ensure that quality recordkeeping practices are implemented and followed
- Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of a process manual for Business Officer position
- Assist with progressing correspondence for the Minister, Director-General and Deputy Directors-General, as required
- Completion of the annual systems appraisal process for the branch
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff across the department
- Contribute to a client culture of service, excellence and continuous improvement
- All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the department.
