We're looking for an enthusiastic Day Work Security Officer who can deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring that the Parliamentary Precinct remains safe and secure for everyone who visits or works here.
As a Day Work Security Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a high level of customer service and assisting Members of Legislative Assembly, staff, visitors and the public at a variety of access and reception points within the Parliamentary Precinct. You will also perform a variety of established security duties within all areas of the Parliamentary Complex and assist with emergency evacuations of the Parliamentary buildings as and when required.
You will be part of a team that provides a 24-hour, year-round security service to maintain a safe and secure environment for Members of Parliament and staff of the Parliamentary Service when in the Parliamentary Precinct and visitors to the Parliamentary Precinct. Your role is to complement the capability and functioning of the Parliamentary Service Security Team.
The day work officers' hours of duty are varied between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday over a 38-hour week.

- Deliver a high level of customer service.
- Assist Members of Legislative Assembly, staff, visitors and the public at a variety of access and reception points within the Parliamentary Precinct.
- Perform a variety of established security duties within all areas of the Parliamentary Complex.
- Perform activities associated with the Parliamentary Complex Control Room and associated monitoring systems and ensure that procedures are carried out and incidents are documented.
- Assist with emergency evacuations of the Parliamentary buildings as and when required.
- Perform static guard duties within Parliamentary Precinct.
- Perform regular patrol duties within the buildings and grounds.
- Assist State and/or Civil Authorities with respect to Parliamentary security as and when required.
- Provide first aid response as required.

We currently have two permanent and one (12 month) temporary role available.
