As the Parliamentary Officer (Petitions, Interests and Executive Support), you will work closely with the Clerk of Parliament to provide administrative, procedural and executive support to the Office of the Clerk. You will maintain the Parliament's petition system and the Register of Members' and Related Persons' Interests, administered by the Clerk's Office.
You will provide executive, administrative and procedural support to the Clerk, such as managing records of correspondence and documents, scheduling meetings and making arrangements, updating websites with relevant information, conducting research tasks on various topics, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and preparing draft procedural information for the Clerk on sittings days of the Legislative Assembly.
You will assist the Clerk with the petition system, such as processing paper petitions for tabling and requests for e-petitions, managing correspondence with petitioners and respondents, answering queries from Members, electorate office staff, departmental staff and the public about the petition system, and reporting statistics on petition activity to the Clerk and the House.
You will assist the Clerk, as Registrar, with the Registers of Members' Interests and Related Persons' Interests, such as managing correspondence with Members and their related persons, updating and publishing the Registers at the direction of the Clerk, preparing draft reports on the Registers for tabling in the House, publishing reports on the Internet, and answering queries from Members and their staff about entries on the Registers.
