**Position Overview**
The Assistant Director, People and Culture is responsible for assisting the Deputy Director, People and Culture to deliver a broad range of human resource services, information and advice in accordance with relevant Commonwealth legislative and policy requirements.
The occupant of this position must be client-focused, have excellent writing skills, including attention to detail and have relevant experience working in human resources in a Commonwealth Public Service agency or department.

**Duties**
The Assistant Director, People and Culture is responsible for:

- Providing assistance to the Deputy Director, People and Culture across HR functions including recruitment, work health safety, case management, policy and training.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, statutory obligations and accounting standards.
- Making decisions in accordance with delegated authority from the Director/Deputy Director, People and Culture.
- Assisting with the development of new and innovative HR strategies that support the Courts management framework.
- Advising on dispute resolution and recommend solutions or alternative courses of action.
- Collating data and preparing reporting requirements.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated human resource experience relevant to a Commonwealth Public Service agency or department including an understanding of the relevant legislation and policies issued by Commonwealth agencies and departments.
- Strong written skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- High-level interpersonal skills with an ability to influence line managers.
