**Role**:
Kambrya College would welcome an experienced and suitably qualified person to assume the role of Facilities Manager with responsibility to maintain and develop the school facilities so that they are consistently safe, functional and attractive. The Facilities role includes, but is not limited to, buildings, furniture and fittings, utility services, infrastructure, cleaning, annual contracts, OHS, grounds. A willingness and ability to learn new skills, and where appropriate, undertake further training would be required. The Facilities Manager is responsible to the Business Manager, is a member of the Facilities subcommittee of School Council and works under the guidance of relevant school committees.

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate an ability to develop excellent rapport with students, staff, tradespeople and visitors.
- Work effectively as part of a team, providing mutual support, sharing expertise, managing the equipment/tools/resources and cooperatively implementing new ideas.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the concept of continuous improvement by reference to successful examples from her/his own experience.
- Manage the facilities budget ensuring that the work done is appropriate, timely and cost effective with due consideration given to Department of Education policy, school priority setting and OHS issues.
- Use ICT effectively to negotiate with suppliers/contractors, generate orders, verify invoices, maintain records and prepare reports using dedicated Department of Education software.
- Develop a sound understanding of Department policies and community regulations (including asbestos management, OHS and EPA)
- Monitor contractors to ensure that they are compliant (DE and building regulations), and their work meets quality expectations.
