Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM), operating, maintaining, and transforming part of Victoria’s rail network is seeking a Workplace Relations Manager to support its Infrastructure business. This role is an 18-month Max-Term contact in a full-time capacity.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Workplace Relocations, the Workplace Relations Manager partners with the Workplace Relations team, the Executive/Senior Leadership Teams, and operational leaders in our Infrastructure division. This role will support the industrial relations work for our Infrastructure division. The role requires someone with senior level expertise in providing timely industrial relations advice to the business and the self-composure to manage industrial relations issues during a period of complex enterprise agreement negotiations.

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Partnering with the People Division, Workplace Relations team, and operational managers to support the timely identification and management of workplace relations issues.
- Change management consultation with employees and our union stakeholders.
- Enterprise Agreement Planning and execution as part of the wider Workplace Relations team
- Dispute resolution and complex case management on a range of workplace relations issues.
- Management of highly complex cases, dispute resolution and negotiations with union stakeholders
- Development of policies, procedures, standards and other relevant documents to support best practice management of workplace relations issues
- Representing Metro at the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals as required.

About You
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing workplace relations issues in a unionised environment
- Blue collar experience, working with multiple enterprise agreements
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex workplace relations cases and disputes in complex organisations
- Have outstanding stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively with business leaders and multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
