Our client, a household name in the rail infrastructure industry is seeking an autonomous Site Inspector for rail construction projects in regional areas of Victoria.

What you will be responsible for:

- Managing routine construction surveillance activities, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and best practices.
- Provide staff with a safe workplace where risks are identified, understood, and managed, and a safe environment for customers and visitors is maintained.
- Providing site environmental support to projects ensuring compliance with environmental and heritage legislation.
- Monitoring and reporting of all onsite activities across a broad range of projects.
- Liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively manage emerging issues and provide clear options, solutions and recommendations to the project team to ensure safe and effective implementation of works with improved environmental outcomes.
- Maintaining a diary of observations and elevate to project managers and engineers as required.
- Maintain detailed daily site records of work performed and construction activities (including photographs) to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the environmental management system and contract documents.
- Undertakes inspections, reviews, and signs off, on behalf of the representative for contractors works requiring the release of construction witness and hold points.
- Participate in the assessment of construction-specific documentation such as: Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS); Environmental Management Plans (EMP); Environmental.
- Work Method Statements; Construction Environment Management Plans (CEMP) and; other planning documentation to ensure that documentation is accurate and robust.

What you bring to the role:

- Current Driver’s License
- Current RIW card (or ability to obtain one)
- Construction Induction Card (or ability to obtain one)
