About the role
The Regional Project Coordinator will coordinate the delivery of projects in Northern Victoria focusing on the Northern Plains Grasslands and Kerang Wetlands. The EPBC-listed grasslands, encompassing Terrick Terrick National Park and Bael Bael Nature Conservation Reserve, are home to the critically endangered Plains Wanderer. The Kerang wetlands and Gunbower National Park are internationally recognised Ramsar wetlands protecting a range of endangered species. Parks Victoria are working with its partners to restore the ecological health of these sites, and protect the important indigenous cultural heritage retained there.
The role is responsible for the delivery of large, funded projects with the objective to address threats to the habitat quality. Leading a team, the Regional Project Coordinator will drive the implementation of innovative, large-scale land management activities such as pest animal control to achieve measurable gains in Parks Victoria reserves. The position contributes to engagement with key partners including state agencies and indigenous groups, participating in the planning and development of conservation approaches.
As a senior member of the Northern Regional Operations Delivery team, the Project Coordinator will build the project management capabilities of Parks Victoria across Northern Victoria from the Mallee to Kinglake.
**We're looking for someone with**:
- Background in conservation management with an understanding of key ecological issues in reserve management
- Significant experience in project management, preferably as a project lead
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
