Triage Officer
One in five Australians will experience a mental health condition in any given year; with the mental health care needs of Australians increasing dramatically in post-pandemic. We are passionate about nurturing future generations of healthy and connected communities, families, and individuals. Our goal is to connect with people and our community to empower each person to access the knowledge they need and develop the skills required to weather life’s ups and downs and to manage complex mental health concerns. We want our community to be free of mental health stigma and for the culture of our community to support each individual to develop healthy beliefs and behaviours that promote health and well being.
As a member of our triage team you will be the first point of contact many in our community will have in their journey of seeking assistance during the most difficult times in their lives. You will contribute to making people feel comfortable, heard and accepted during this time and to reducing the experience of mental health stigma in our community. You will support people to feel connected and understood and will instil hope for a better future.
The kind of person who can best contribute to this experience for our clients will be:
- Warm and friendly; someone who puts people at ease
- A fast learner who hates to be bored
- Someone with a passion for people, who wants to do work that matters
- A team player who enjoys working alongside others
- An excellent multi-tasker who can prioritise effectively
- An administrative whiz, with high accuracy and strong attention to detail
- An effective communicator who builds strong relationships with others
- Able to think on your feet to generate solutions in the moment
- Calm under pressure, and able to assist others to regulate in stressful situations
- Respectful and non-judgemental in their approach to others
- Highly focused, flexible, loyal and reliable
Experience in a similar role or a tertiary qualification in Mental Health is highly desirable.
If this sounds like you, then you could be the person we have been looking for.
Due to organisational growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate team member to join our client relationship team as our triage officer. The Client Care (Triage) Officer is responsible for triaging enquiries to ensure they are offered and booked in with the most appropriate health service and provided with suitable information to empower them in taking the first steps in their healthcare journey. Other duties will involve reception and general administrative duties.
This part time permanent position can start immediately if desired or a mutually agreeable start date can be negotiated for the right applicant. The successful applicant will be required to work a combination of 8am - 4.30pm and 9am - 5.30pm shifts throughout the week, Monday to Friday onsite at our offices in Bella Vista.
