About us

Home to renowned brands like Gyprock, Cemintel, Bradford Monier, PGH Bricks, AFS, and Hebel, our reputation is built upon pioneering sustainable, high-performance building solutions for the construction sector in Australia and New Zealand.

Opportunity Overview
This presents a captivating chance to follow your passion for a role in the energy domain. CSR stands as a substantial energy consumer and is an active player in NEM, STTM, and DWGM markets, steering resolutely toward a carbon-neutral future. Our ambitions entail accomplishing 50% electricity generation through renewable sources and a 20% reduction in energy per unit of saleable product by 2030.
Under the direct guidance of the Energy Manager, you will join an agile and efficient team that oversees energy supply and distribution from wholesale gas and electricity markets to our manufacturing sites across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the energy management function, encompassing procurement, administration, cost allocation, and analysis of existing and potential energy expenses and supply. Also, handle operational interactions linked to CSR's engagement in AEMO's national electricity grid and wholesale gas hubs
- Reconcile and validate supplier invoices, ensuring approval for payment and smooth processing through the Group SAP system and Accounts Payables team
- Engage in data analysis and modelling to contribute to the annual and long-term energy budget, collaborating with the Energy Manager, Business Unit operations managers, and finance managers, utilizing CSR Energy system tools
- Develop energy position and cost reports for the Energy Manager and Finance Committee
- Implement accurate and fair allocation of group-level energy purchases to individual sites as per a defined framework. Oversee the internal billing process
- Act as the contact point and analyst for internal billing, fostering transparency of actual and projected energy costs with business unit finance managers
- Establish proactive communication with external entities, including energy service providers and AEMO, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance, encompassing backup of back office functions and AEMO-related communications

**To excel in this role, you should possess**:

- Determination and precision in handling administrative responsibilities
- A meticulous attention to detail and a drive to enhance existing practices
- Beneficial experience and familiarity with AEMO information, retailer systems, gas markets, and electricity markets
- Proficiency in Excel, familiar with SAP, and a keenness to expand these competencies
- Database skills are an advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities
- Willing to work part time (flexible with hours/days)

**Culture**:
At CSR, we are committed to creating a supportive and engaging environment that recognises and rewards its people, enabling them to grow their career and truly thrive. We are a diverse and inclusive organisation where differences are valued. We welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities.
