**Visitor Experience Lead - Maitland Gaol**

One of the city's major tourist attractions is Maitland Gaol. Rich in history, this culturally significant site provides guests with an all-encompassing experience ranging from one-on-one guided tours, ex-warden guided tours, and even paranormal investigations (ghost hunting) for those who are brave enough Maitland Gaol also hosts a range of events and activities which provide a unique visitor experience.

**The Opportunity**

The Visitor Experience Lead - Maitland Gaol is responsible for maintaining and growing Maitland Gaol's reputation as one of the most iconic visitor attractions in the Hunter Region. This will involve achieving a high level of customer satisfaction across all areas of Maitland Gaol, as well as leading the training and ongoing mentoring of the Visitor Experience Team.

Progressive thinking, innovation and highly effective working relationships are key in this role, ensuring positive and constructive customer and staff interactions. The Visitor Experience Lead will manage projects, drive innovation, undertake public programming and identify products and initiatives aimed at maximising return on investment for the community.

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will have a Degree in Tourism, Business or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of significant contemporary supervisory experience and education with a particular focus on the development and delivery of initiatives that enhance visitor experiences.

You will be the expert in leading a visitor focused environment and will have highly developed project management skills. Your leadership expertise will be evident through your aptitude for managing team and individual performance and your ability to empower, develop and motivate staff.

In addition to exceptional interpersonal skills, you will be open minded, solutions focused, and resilient. Our Visitor Experience Lead manages a team working at a seven day a week tourist attraction, meaning that at times there will be a requirement to work weekends and outside of traditional office hours.

**Benefits**

This is a temporary full-time role until December 2024, working 35 hours per week, with a salary ranging from $92,015 - $102,137 per year based on previous skills and experience + 11% p.a. super.
