**Production Supervisor - Weekday Night Shift: 11pm - 7am**

**The Role**

In this role as Production Supervisor, you will supervise the operating and employee activities of the Production department to achieve optimum efficiencies, meet all quality standards, scheduled production and Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and co-ordinate the Production department employees to meet the production schedules.
- Maintain communication and control of the Production department during shift.
- Incorporate EMS practices are encouraged and processes are reviewed and Lean practices are in place.
- Manage the department’s operation to meet budgeted spending, labour efficiency and conversion loss standards.
- Implement corrective actions in accordance with quality standards as required.
- Make recommendations and implement value improvement programs. Continually strive for quality and process improvements to reduce product cost. Set and co-ordinate small projects in the department using technical background and knowledge to full advantage.
- Ensure conformance to specifications of all products and processes in order to maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards and **Good Manufacturing Practices**.
- Maintain the Quality Manuals for the department to ensure compliance to current production practices.
- Supervise the training program for the department so that both new and experienced staff are trained and assessed as competent to undertake the tasks required of them.
- Co-ordinate the routine checking and refurbishment of all of the Production department equipment in the department via the use of outside contractors who provide appropriate testing and measurement tools.
- In conjunction with the Planning department organise the weekly production schedules to best meet the balance of inventory and efficiency.
- Conduct monthly, and if required, more regular stocktakes for inventory management purposes.
- Give direction to staff on appropriate corrective action when needed; make appropriate decisions on when to stop production lines if yields are not being met, or quality is compromised in order to ensure the quality of the product is met.
- Submit quantity forecasts for the department and contribute appropriate expenditure in the budgeting process having input into labour and conversion loss standards.
- Supervise employees in resolving any minor employee issues that may arise in the department.
- Report regularly to the Production Manager on all production and staff matters in order to maintain communication and feedback.
- Take appropriate actions to support the Enterprise Management System EMS requirements including engagement of staff in continuous improvement.
- Ensure business relationships reflect the basic principles of Leadership Expectations i.e. integrity, respect for individuals, responsiveness to quality, teamwork, empowerment and innovation.
- Ensure employees are treated fairly, according to their skills, education, qualifications, experience, abilities and aptitudes, without discrimination so that decisions are based on merit and equal opportunity for all.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, legal documents and safety and ethical standards.
- Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety is considered and applied under the provided guidelines.
- Other duties, as may be required.

**Key Requirements of the role include**:
**Essential**:

- Previous production supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous night experience (desirable)
- Good knowledge of GMP and GDP
- Knowledge and experience of Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Works well under pressure, is approachable and a team player
- Demonstrate appropriate Lean skills
- Strong Spoken Communication - Able to clearly present information through the spoken word; listens well
- Policy & Procedures - Able to relate to routine operational procedures; comply with policies and procedures
- Commitment to Task - Able to start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency
