Government agency looking for a Principal's Representative to assist with capital works projects.
**Your new company**
Our client is a government agency based in Brisbane that provides a number of products and services to assist in the building and maintenance of government owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to add a Principal’s Representative to their team to assist with major projects on behalf of the department.
**Your new role**
You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of complex capital works projects on behalf of the projects. You will act as a point of reference on matters of buildability and on-site construction management while ensuring that project quality and contract deliverables are achieved. You will also assist with internal stakeholders to ensure staff are being properly developed, as well as communicate and negotiate with a broad range of external project stakeholders. Regular project briefs, reporting and submissions with also be required in this role.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of project management in regards to the building and construction of public works projects, particularly public sector projects. Therefore, you will ideally come from a client-side project management background, with a relevant qualification in project, contract, or construction management. You will have an understanding of government regulations and guidelines regarding capital works projects in Queensland, as well as previous experience using an array of Microsoft Programs to complete regular project reporting.
**What you'll get in return**
You will be offered an immediate start in an initial 1 year contracted casual role within a government agency with the likelihood of extension. You will be offered a full-time temporary position paying an A08 rate + super.
